COMMUNITY GUIDELINES

Roleplay First

This community is built on the principle of text-based roleplaying a fictional character in a fictional setting. First and foremost we strive to use in-character interactions to build a narrative as a community. The most important part of this principle is that your character should pursue gameplay mechanics ONLY through the lens of an immersive roleplay reason. This server is not meant for racing around the map vacuuming up all the loot, clearing all the zombies or speeding through the crafting skills.

Additionally, your character only knows what they have seen or heard firsthand, or have been told by other characters in the server (NOT what the players know outside the server) while surviving in Knox Country. We aim to keep the community narrative untainted by factors outside of what our characters experience. While playing on our server, please remember this focus!

Respect Everyone

At the end of the day, respect is the most important thing to remember. No matter your level of contribution to this community, we care greatly about you feeling welcomed and respected. Any player who goes against this will meet swift consequences.

Immersion is Important

As a roleplay community, we want to maintain a sense of immersion while trying to survive against the shambling masses. This includes the mods we use, our server rules, and how we foster the emergent stories that develop within this community.

Characters Run the Narrative

The story of the survivors in this community is told by the survivors themselves! Events can occur based on the factions that develop over time, and our admins look to reward a player’s dedication to their character. The more detail you put into your character’s story, the more rewarding your experience will be in this community!

Zero Drama

While drama is encouraged between characters, drama developing between players is a quick ticket to consequences. Take care to remember that conflicts between characters should stay between characters, not between players.

RULES

All players are expected to read and follow the rules detailed in this thread while playing in this community. Failure to follow these rules will result in that player receiving a warning. Players who have already received a warning will be placed on probation for a period of time that correlates with the severity of their infraction. Players on probation will receive no warnings when breaking any other rules, and will receive a ban that has a length that correlates with the severity of their infractions, up to a permanent ban. The admins will attempt to have a discussion with repeat offense players who receive many probations in an attempt to educate them on our rules and how to help that player fit well within our community. There is an appeals process, and we carefully consider the culpability of a player’s actions before handing out bans, but we will not accept shallow appeal attempts or abuse of our appeals system. If you are found to subverting our bans or temporary bans by creating alternate accounts, you will be permanently banned without question and be locked out from any appeals.

We reserve the right to temporarily or permanently ban players without warning for behavior we find unfit for this roleplay focused community. If you have read and understand our rules, you have nothing to fear.

All players are bound to these rules. If you witness any player breaking these rules (including un-tagged community staff), please submit a report ticket or report them directly to an admin or moderator, preferably with evidence of the infraction. We take all reports seriously, but if we find that you are abusing your right to report (as in spamming reports, malicious false reports, etc.), you will receive a warning yourself.

If a rule references “our community” or “the community” it is referring to any and all platforms operated by the community officials and the owner (Trinnsic), including the zomboid and discord server.

Our admins are community officials that are vetted and trusted by the owner as exemplars of roleplay and community management who help facilitate engaging roleplay and help manage administrative tasks. Admins seek to reward good roleplay and dedication to the narrative we build together. They are also empowered to penalize those who try to tarnish that narrative by deliberately breaking the rules we have set.
